New Albums – Most Wanted

1

So I’ve been thinking about all the new albums released lately, while we get 100′s of records a week there are some new releases I would like the chance to spin. The new Elbow CD, The new project from Danger Mouse and Daniele Luppi, the new Radiohead release.  What do you the listener want to hear? Let us know so we can get in the ears of our distributors.

Greetings to all of you in radio land and beyond.

What a killer week.  Killfest came to Blondies in Detroit on Thursday and Sonata Arctica was there on Saturday.  Adam Walter and I were at Killfest and Dethtone was at the Sonata show.  The mosh pit at the Overkill show was most brutal.  Adam and I both sustained minor injuries.  Tuesday night on Infinite Metal I’ll be broadcasting interviews with Bobby Blitz from Overkill and some of the guys from Warbringer.  Next Monday Dethtone will have an interview he did with Tony from Sonata Arctica on his show.  Stay tuned for all of that plus your regular metal goodness.

As for music, we have the new Dilinger Escape Plan, The Ocean, Rotten Sound, Scale The Summit, Shadows Sanctuary, and Dark Funeral among others.  The Shadows Sanctuary has a great power metal/NWOBHM feel to it and I am digging it.

Until next time,

Greetings,

We’ve added another set of brutal/heavy CDs:

  1. Devolved – Calculated (Unique Leader)
  2. Arkaik – Reflections Within Dissonace (Unique Leader)
  3. Suffokate – No Mercy, No Forgiveness (Century Media)
  4. Karnivool – Sound Awake (Sony)
  5. Carnifex – Hell Chose Me (Victory)
  6. Wrath And Rapture – Wrath And Rapture (Tragic Hero)

Keep a look out for the upcoming Gamma Ray album and Avantasia double album.  I’m quite excited about both.  Also, there are some great tours going on this spring.  Megadeth, Testament, Exodus, Hammerfall, Overkill, Sonata Arctica, and Primal Fear (although not altogether) are on the road.  It looks like a bunch of great shows are coming up.

I hope everyone is enjoying a brutal Valentines Day.

The American Carnage Tour featuring Megadeth, Slayer, and Testament has been rescheduled, so check your local venues for that. If you’re in the Bowling Green area, it will come to Cleveland on August 18th and Detroit on the 19th. It should be a great time.

Here are the new metal CDs for the week:

1.Aborted – Coronary Reconstruction
2.Dark Tranquillity – We Are The Void
3.Dark Fortress – Ylem
4.Karen Page – Karen Page
5.Fear Factory – Mechanize
6.Two Ton Anvil – Two Ton Avil

There’s some really heavy/brutal stuff there.

Finally, from all of us at The Metal Storm to you: have a brutal Valentines Day.
