Information Regarding the 4th Annual 2007 WBGU-FM Fund Drive
This coming November 2007, will be the fourth annual Fund Drive at WBGU 88.1 FM. It will span from November 11th to the 17th.
Promotional efforts will include 24/7 volunteer-based phone pledge lines, benefit concerts at several venues, and remote broadcasts from around the Bowling Green community.
Why is This Happening?
Due to rising costs of equipment, licensing fees, and operating costs, it has become necessary for WBGU-FM to reach out to
the community to look for support. More specifically, we are attempting to make the FCC-reccomended converstion to digital
broadcasting, which overall, will cost the station around $130,000. TV already has been mandated to make the conversion by 2009.
Because of this, and in order to continue to offer our listeners
the same quality broadcast they expect, we've turned to you, the listener,
for support!
Why Should People Pledge?
If you love the programming here on WBGU-FM, and want to continue
to support it, we need your help! We also have quite an array of thank
you gifts for your donations: WBGU-FM stickers, new t-shirts, vintage
t-shirts and sweatshirts. We also have CDs, vinyl records, t-shirts, posters, etc. of some of your favorite artists
played on WBGU-FM.
