WBGU 88.1 FM is a non-commercial
radio station located on the campus of Bowling Green State
University in northwest Ohio. WBGU-FM is a student run radio
station that focuses on independent, underground, and under-represented
music and is dedicated to connecting with the surrounding
communities.
Broadcasting at 1,000 watts, WBGU-FM
offers people in northwest Ohio the opportunity to hear truly
alternative music new and old. Our programming schedule ranges
from indie rock to punk, metal, electronic, industrial, gothic, experimental, jazz, hip-hop, world, folk,
blues, latin, and more. Our DJs range from college students to professors
to community members who simply love music. Each DJ is a wealth
of information, sharing facts and interesting tidbits about
the music they play and the artists they enjoy.
Helping bring great performers to
Bowling Green is a main goal of WBGU-FM. Working with local clubs
and Bowling Green State University, WBGU-FM obtains many nationally
recognized and critically acclaimed artists to perform in
Bowling Green. In addition WBGU works with campus and community
groups to spread the word about local events and activities.
Providing alternative media, local
sports, and news programming, and great music, WBGU-FM is on the
air 24 hours a day, 7 days a week each and every academic
year, as well as each summer. The strength
of WBGU-FM is the diversity and the commitment of each and everyone
of our volunteer workers.
We hope that each listener discovers
something new when tuning into WBGU-FM and will tune in again
and again.
