High Voltage gets down and dirty during an all new Dirty Glitter

HOPE
0Over the past week the we’ve all taken a bit of an emotional hit; and not just us here in the United States. As citizens of the world, one of the best ways that we come together, find common ground and get inspired is through music. And that’s what this week’s High Voltage selections are all about.
High Voltage + Dirty Glitter = Music Love!
0A couple years ago High Voltage hosted a PledgeMusic campaign to bring back our print issues, everyone who pledged received a special 20 track compilation album featuring several of their favorite bands. They called the album, Share To Care: Music For Life and all tracks were exclusive to High Voltage in some way (a previously never released song or b-side or live version, etc).
This week on Dirty Glitter we wanted to honor a couple of those artists/songs.
Hurricane Bells which features Justin from Blue October on harmonica. Hurricane Bells is brain child of Steve Schiltz, former frontman for indie rock band Longwave. If the Killers and Devendra Banhart had a baby, and the baby wrote skillfull acoustic pop music, the result might sound something like Hurricane Bells.
Imagine Dragons; a band that no longer needs an introduction as they are becoming a household name. High Voltage has been behind these guys for several years and even featured them in our Winter 2012 issue. Learn more about this rapidly rising band HERE
This last track has nothing to do with our compilation album, but features another band High Voltage loves. A band that’s been around for 20 years, Hanson. That’s right – the three brothers famously known for singing Mmmbop. Hanson’s blend of indie pop rock is absolutely delightful and extremely catchy. They will be releasing their sixth studio album, Anthem, on June 18th.
